Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden, Papaikou Reviews
Wow. Easily the best botanical garden i have ever seen. The people who care for this facility do an incredible job. The variety of plants here is shocking. Wind down the path to the ocean. Its easy to spend hours here appreciating everything. Completely worth the cost of entry.
I was fortunate to visit this stunning garden and its amazing variety of plants in 2010. I loved it! A fabulous day spent here taking hundreds of photos of glorious tropical flowers. I am from NZ..we have lush and beautiful bush but not the flowers you see in Hawaii. So much to see...amazing plants...views of the sea...waterfalls..a mix of vegetation growing together. I liked its wildness. Its not overgroomed. Congratulations to the gardeners who maintain this spectacular place. My thoughts are with you at this time of eruption.
Definitely a place to stop and walk round in. Tastefully done but plan on walking as you need to come down the cliff to almost sea level. It is ramped so it could be called accessible for a decent portion but I would not want to push some one down or up the ramp...my personal opinion....great orchids and other flowers scattered throughout. I took probably 100 or so great flower pictures here using my camera and not my phone so I do not have anything readily available to post at this time. Maybe later.
Very beautiful gardens in a tropical setting. They provide umbrellas that you can borrow (no fee) for sudden rain bursts. Be aware there is a very steep entrance into the gardens and some paths have steps. You will see many plants, ocean views and waterfalls. Seats scattered around for resting was nice.
I've traveled the world and these gardens are definitely top five of the most beautiful places I've ever been. It's humid, it's a good amount of walking but its all so worth it. And the staff there is incredible. So humble, kind, and helpful with other recommendations in the area too. Thank you for giving me such peace on my trip!
