Pafos Zoo isn’t exactly that well known, but it’s a treasure regardless. It’s actually quite large and more than a little popular for it’s bird and parrot shows so that its unique park in Cyprus. It was originally a private collection of birds and the now public zoo is the third largest of it’s kind in Europe. The Paphos Zoo has been consistently acquiring animals over the last few years such as zebra, giraffe, gazelle, primates, white lion, tigers and elephants.

Visitors love the zoo for it’s neat organisation, cleanliness, friendly staff and children especially love the petting area, where they can get up close and personal with the animals. There are plenty of shaded areas around for snack and rest and the zoo restaurant isn’t half bad. Do not under any circumstance miss the bird and parrot show; the animals are highly well trained and the experience is supposed to be irreplaceable. If you want a distinctly non-archaeological Paphos experience, you couldn’t ask for better.

  • What an amazing place. The birds and animals are all well cared for. Plenty of food, water and bedding. Staff are lovely and helpful. Had the privilege to feed an elephant which made my holiday. Also got to feed a giraffe. Spent the whole day here and would like to return.

  • Really enjoyed our day at the zoo, visited last year too. Feeding the giraffe, bottle feeding a baby tiger and being close to and feeding an elephant - awesome experiences/memories made. Cafe is good too and staff were so helpful, thoroughly recommend.

  • Amazing experience! Zoo is not large, everything is quite compact. However, you will see a lot of animals and birds. Animals are in very good condition. Great birds show! Also we enjoyed interaction with giraffe. Inside you will find spaceous children playground and nice restaurant. We really enjoyed the visit and spend there 3,5 hours. I would stay even longer, but the day was very hot.

  • Pafos Zoo is great, we waited for the bird show at 12 midday as a little birdie told us that after the show they would bring out a surprise that you could interact with. See pics below. Amazing experience xx

  • €33 for 2 people seemed a bit steep. Was expecting to see some indigenous animals but mostly birds here, in fact excessive amount of birds. As usual felt quite sad seeing beautiful animals locked in cages. A loan elephant u could pay extra to have photo & contact with (€50), 3 white lions, siberian tigers, some monkeys, reptile house was very interesting, small museum and lots of birds. Not many tourists there and i would say safari park setting better for animals.
