About Pafos Zoo, Paphos
Paphos Zoo isn’t exactly that well known, but it’s a treasure regardless. It’s actually quite large, and more than a little popular for it’s bird and parrot shows. It was originally a private collection of birds and the now public zoo is the third largest of it’s kind in Europe. The Zoo has been consistently acquiring animals over the last few years such as zebra, giraffe, gazelle, primates, white lion, tigers and elephants.
Visitors love the zoo for it’s neat organisation, cleanliness, friendly staff and children especially love the petting area, where they can get up close and personal with the animals. There are plenty of shaded areas around for snack and rest and the zoo restaurant isn’t half bad. Do not under any circumstance miss the bird and parrot show; the animals are highly well trained and the experience is supposed to be irreplaceable. If you want a distinctly non-archaeological Paphos experience, you couldn’t ask for better.

A beautiful green park, after the visit there were only positive impressions, visited several times and was never disappointed. At certain times several times a day, performances (shows) of various parrots and owls are held. You can safely come for the whole day, or combine with beach rest / bathing on the coast.
Great little zoo. Had a huge range of birds. Lots of other animals as well. Had a lovely few hours there.
An interesting little zoo. Lots to see and do, but it's a hot one today and most of the animals are staying cool in dark corners. I do feel though (in relation to other modern zoos I have seen) that the cages are far too small 😕.....
It's a good zoo, the cages maybe a little small, but they are clean & the animals don't seem to be in any distress, I did see one of the birds in the car park, I took a photo of it & showed it to one of the people that worked there 'oh they have wings, sometimes they do fly off, but most come back' was the reply. It's more a conservation zoo, animals that are rescued, they say all the money goes back into the animals & it's a good day out, go in the mornings though, that's when the animals aren't hiding from the sun!! Also, the free bus that takes you there is just outside the entrance to the car park where Coral Bay is, don't make the same mistake we did & wait for it in the car park
Great to see all the animals and birds. Need a cool down and rest in the restaurant at the end of the walk around. All good.
