Brasserie Lipp Reviews & Ratings
We enjoyed dining here. Prices are very reasonable for this neighborhood and the dishes they serve which are slightly more upscale than the typical bistro fare. There’s a sign in front of the restaurant saying no shorts, so don’t come here wearing shorts! Jeans are ok :) there is also a warning written on top of their menu, in red, in English, saying “salad is not a meal” 🤣 I like these guys
All the classique of French cuisine in Brasserie style. This restaurant is an institution in Paris. A must try but be ready to have a big appetite because portions are generous! I’m a bit doubtfully on bad reviews about food quality, people didn’t get the subtlety of French cuisine, this is family style, not high cuisine.
The restaurant atmosphere is really nice. Fancy with a touch of traditional French. But the food is not good enough for this kind of restaurant. I m not saying it was bad food but it wasn't really good food like you could expect from a restaurant of this kind.
While the ambiance and drink was good, the wait staff really killed the experience. They always are in a perpetual state of rushing customers, in particular tourists. Suggest other places in Paris if looking for great atmosphere and service.
Our expectations were low, but the food exceeded the expectations. It’s not anything special. But it’s not terrible either. French waitstaff theatre deserves five stars on its own merit. It was like being an extra in Comedie Francaise. They charged us for several extra glasses of wine. It took a while to resolve the issue going through several rounds of various waiters/managers. The interior is one of the more magnificent in Paris or anywhere in the world. I assume you would be going there for its history.
