At The Delicate Rose of Sables, you’re greeted with one word: Welcome! That’s all the English that Mama Zouzou, your grandmotherly waitress, knows. Papa Christian, your grandfatherly chef, completes the staff list of this incredibly cute bistro. They are kind, funny, and warm and will make you feel as if you were their favorite nephews and nieces. They are going to spoil you rotten. You’ll be provided with mulled wine as soon as you enter. Order your food, and be stunned by the ridiculously large servings. As you’re while the time away, you’ll be pressed with impromptu appetizers, sides, gifts, souvenirs and laughs. You’ll notice books here and there: gift’s donated by enchanted authors. We shan’t spoil the surprises this loving couple will land you with. As you leave you’ll threaten them, on the pain of breaking your heart, to never, ever close shop!

  • We heard about this quaint little place somehow and with a free evening we decided to try our luck. To our surprise we were able to fit in for a meal. Be warned, there's only seating for about 8 people max so your chances are slim but patience will be rewarded! The food is super simple but delightful and classic. The host is a beautiful lady who doted and cared for us while there making this experience is like nothing we've ever seen and probably never will again. With limited french language ourselves and minimal English herself, we got by and had our dinner (and dessert!). A truly amazing experience I'll never forget.

  • Mamie only speaks French so prepare yourself when you want do dine here! But the effort is totally worth it, the food tastes like homemade and there was always fresh bread and homemade Sangria and small snacks. Dining here was a fresh but warm experience! Can only recommend this restaurant!

  • The best meal I have had for months if not years, the owner treats you like her own kid and can provide a genuine taste of France on a cheap budget with a three course meal costing €16.50. Also the owner will mother you and make you feel at home not letting your bread bowl empty and giving you free drinks "for a soul" highly recommend to everyone.

  • We had an unbelievable good evening. An old lovely lady was taking care of everything and everyone. She loved and joked the whole evening. And even more it was like having dinner with family, with all its good and bad. She talked with the people and was sometimes all over the place. Still she handled everyone like family. An old CD player was restarting every few minutes. So certain tracks you knew very well after a while. This is not meant negative. It was very funny in this situation. Even more that she spoke almost no English. The food was quite good and especially good value for money. Even more as we got souvenirs at the end, because we took a menu. I would recommend you taking the menu. This evening will stay in my memories.

  • The food was amazing and the service was the best I've had in a long time. I felt like I was a guest in someone's house rather than a customer.
