  • I do not normally leave lengthy reviews, but I wanted to leave one here as an antidote to the negative reviews I read before dinner. My husband and I ate at Les Deux Magots at the recommendation of a friend. We had a fantastic time. Our waiter was prompt and friendly, as was the maitre'd when we entered. We were seated 10 minutes early for a 7 PM reservation. We began with a selection of cheeses, and moved on to our main course. I had chicken with risotto and my husband had duck breast. He did say the duck was a bit dry, but overall, he enjoyed the meal. We had dessert and the hot chocolate, which tasted like melted chocolate frosting (not a bad thing, in my opinion). The price was not cheap, but we expected that and accounted for it in our budget. We had a great experience tonight. No rude wait staff, as some have suggested, and our food was fantastic. Would definitely recommend.

  • You have to come with the right expectations. Know that you'll be paying nearly twice the standard for everything, but this cafe is historic and on a nice block in Saint-Germain-des-Pres. The vibe and excellent service make it worth a visit. It is a great place to people watch if you sit in the covered patio, which feels very private and cozy. I recommend this. The food and coffee are solid - nothing to rave about but doing the venue justice.

  • Nice place, but come here if you want to see the rude French waiter stereotype in full display here. One staff was welcoming enough. But the other one snarled at me with such disgust while giving me a once over when I asked for the bill and then ignoring me altogether. And there were just four of us so it wasn't that busy. Take note: I know the proper etiquette of behaving in Parisian restaurants so I can confidently say I have been nothing but courteous to the people of this cafe. Rude waiters are a rarity in Paris in my experience but yeah, go here if you wanna see what people mean by this.

  • Food was good. Service nice. It was a meeting place for artist and writers in the last century, now more a touristic attraction to visit if you are into to know the place where your favourite writer or artist went to drink or eat. Recommended it to have some drinks on the outside tables.

  • Nice restaurant with friendly service and great food. They make the best cappuccinos as well. Pretty fun history behind the name too.
