If you are looking for the finest example of French classical architectural work, visit Luxembourg Palace. This beautiful palace has the typical chateau styled buildings which is testimony to the fact that it might have been built around the 17th century. During those days, the palace was used as the residence of Marie de Medici, to pacify her longing for Pitti Palace, located in Florence. After 1958, the palace has been used as the home of Senate. Hence, people can visit this palace only from the outside at the Jardin du Luxembourg.
However, public visit is possible in groups and by appointment only.
- Call before you visit.
- Group tours are available when the Senate is not in session.
- RER C line: The Luxembourg stop

The palace is beautiful, but park is fantastic, perhaps the most beautiful in Paris. It's nice to sit next to a small lake in front of the palace and enjoy the sun. Always a lot of people always a lot of people but the place is not noisy. Enjoy spending time here. I recommend...
One of the most well kept gardens in Paris with the quiet Medici fountain nearby that most people miss. The ambiance and simple environment attract me too much. Love it.
Beautiful garden with play ground for kids and lots of chairs which are free for sitting. The design and decorations are great. There are free toilets which is very rare in Paris. This is definitely worth a visit.
A great place to go to relax, away from the busy city. Nice gardens. Lots of places to sit comfortably. Definitely worth a visit.
Beautiful architecture and historical testimony. Loved it!
