Musee Des Arts Forains - Review

A surreal museum, full of stunning pieces from old amusement parks and carnivals, this museum is perhaps the quirkiest museum in Paris. A truly magical space, the museum is ornately decorated and exquisitely lit showcasing old carousels, bicycle-powered merry go round and eccentric games like the ‘Race of the Cafe Waiters’. A treat for kids and adults alike, this by-appointment only museum is one of the most unique museums in the world. What’s more, you even get to play some of these unusual, antique games!

Musee Des Arts Forains, Paris Reviews

  • I was in Paris for a conference and the organization had their closing reception here. I had a wonderful experience! It's like a dreamland. The carnival games were super fun and antique and the people who worked there were very friendly. I could not stop admiring all the amazing, quaint decorations. This place is a perfect venue for any professional or personal event.

  • Absolutely fabulous time during an evening work conference event. Playing on all on old games was soo much fun. Well organised, service was excellent and we had a great choice of food.

  • A truly amazing experience. Was organised by work. We had use of all the old amusements and this really takes you back to the innocence of your childhood. The drinks and food were alps top notch and incredibly delicious and tasty. Some of the food was even prepared live in front of me. The entertainment was also out of this world. Fire breathers, jugglers, singers. An incredible evening of whimsy and joy!

  • I’m not sure if they have English tours but when I came thru provided me with a English flier with all the information that was being shared in french. I rode 3 carousels Wich were amazing and can see why famous films like midnight in Paris were filmed here. The collection is amazing the grounds are breathtaking. What a perfect venue for an event and they do rent it out! Well worth the visit. Easy to book online and I even was able to secure a tour the same day.

  • A very interesting museum, one of the most charismatic tour guides we have ever had, who worked with us as english-speakers. Many attractions you would not see anywhere else, including vintage carousels and other pieces that you will be encouraged to ride on!
