The more contemporary cousin of Palais Garnier, Opera bastille was built to plug the loopholes of the architecturally grand but not suitably ‘popular or modern’ Palais Garnier. Opera Bastille now hosts most of the operas in it’s 3300-seater auditorium that boasts of excellent acoustics and comfortable seating. The architecture of the building has been a subject of many debates with many people arguing that its modern, functional design is not befitting the Opera. That being said, the Opera Bastille has given Paris a suitable venue to host its world-class operas that are as moving as they are entertaining.

Opera Bastille - Opera National De Paris, Paris Reviews - Write a Review
Ii have a chance to listen opera here for 1 hour. SIMPLY AMAZING.
Great acoustic, easy access and located in the most beautiful city on Earth (also in the best district).
Pelléas and Mélisande was my third opera at Bastille, scored fabulous balcony front row seat; Elena Tsallagova was magical. Nice modern venue with good acoustics.
The Merry widow a great introduction to the opera. Fabulous theater even from the cheap seats!
Went to see Carmen here, the Opera was wonderful, but the seats were the most uncomfortable seats I have ever had in a theatre. Make sure you do not get an end seat. Had to leave early because the seats were so uncomfortable!
