  • The city of love may be a little mainstream to plan a proposal but the indefinable air or Paris communicates romance. Anywhere in Paris is romantic and meaningful so whatever place you choose for conducting the proposal it will mean a lot

  • Very nice train station. I felt very safe and the army guys were patrolling everywhere. There is a also a baggage locker, which is well guarded and very safe. One has to scan the baggages before enterimg. A small locker costs 5.5€ for 24 hours and can accomodate 2 small travel bags. There are also public restrooms, shops and places where to eat. Info monitors are accurate and easy to read.

  • three stupid controllers kept my Guy on the platform telling him to read their idiot sign indicating to arrive 2 minutes before the departure of the train (whereas he arrived 3min before the blow of siflet). My poor babe resigned to see his train leave without him. Rodrigo was right; protocol kills people's soul. SNCF: 0 once again. So, what are you going to do?

  • Perfect form of transit to get to Paris. The connecting metro or bus are accessible from the train station. Hotels are nearby. The station also has shops and restaurants.

  • The TGV from Stuttgart arrives & departs from here, and many more also. There is a big bus station out the front with buses to nearly everywhere around Paris and more. There are many hotels, too many to count, all around the Gare de l'Est. You can get a good deal, but must look around. Sometimes you will find a good one up some small street. It's not too far from the city centre. But walking from here is no problem. To the Notre-Dame for example, is no problem, and enjoy the sights while you walk. The station is mainly for travelers. There is some shops and stalls to buy food and cafe kiosks. Armed soldiers guard the station for every-bodies security. It's a lovely place really.
