About Pont Alexandre Iii, Paris

The foundation stone for this beautiful, extravagant and ornate bridge laid in 1896 by the man who would go on to become the last Tsar of Russia, Emperor Nicolas II;the bridge is named after his father, who concluded the Franco-Russian Alliance in 1892. For over a hundred years, the beauty of this bridge has captured the hearts of artists, photographers, filmmakers, and songwriters. The inspiring romance of this bridge was hard achieved: the architects were under strict orders that under no circumstances should the Champs-Elysees or the Invalides be obscured. As such, the techniques used in its creation are something of a 19th Century engineering wonder. The Bridge features prominent in several videos ranging from James Bond Movies to Adele music videos.

  • A nice place and environment. I went there with my friend, chose a table to order pur food and I asked the waiter to do a favour and charge my mobile for me. Since I was a tourist there needed it to be fully charge to use the camera and google map. He refused to do so!!!! I asked again and he said I cannot do that. I asked the reason and he said " my boss asked to do not do that". I did not accept the NO answer specially for a restaurant that sells hamburgers for 20 euros. So I left the table and asked the guys behind the bar to help me with charging my mobile and they did it. I hope the "boss" reads my comment here. It is beingvery not service minded to treat your customers like that. You were lucky that I liked my hamburger otherwise could easily give you a one star grade due to the bad experience. If the guys behind the bar refused to help me, I would immediately leave the restaurant.

  • This bridge is one of the most beautiful places in Paris. I used it for some of my engagement photos but my fiance and I came back through here several times just to admire the view!

  • DOV: 31Aug2006 Its a beautiful arch bride connecting Eiffel tower on one side. You must have a walk through the same in the evening if you are visiting Paris. There is beautiful dual golden horse statue with the wings on the same.

  • Beautiful bridge in Paris, not to be missed! Very close to Les Invalides museum and the Champs Elysées street. Beautiful photos to be had here!

  • I shoot brides and brides to be on this bridge every week during the summer. It's extravagantly designed art deco reliefs and proud statues make it a favorite of most photographers I know. It's mine!
