Connecting Place Saint-Michel and Ile de la Cite, Pont Saint-Michel is an arch bridge renovated in 1857 and has a length of 62 meters. Initially built in 1378, the bridge carries the letter N the imperial symbol of Napoleon III. The current bridge has been built by the architects Paul Vaudrey and Paul Martin Gallocher of Lagalisserie. The tympana of the bridge are adorned with imperial symbols adding to its beauty. Named after the adjacent chapel of Saint-Michel, Pont Saint-Michel is worth a quick stop when in the neighborhood.
