Sacre Coeur Cathedral, Paris Reviews
One of the must Visit destinations in Paris. 6.00 pm - 6.30 pm prayers by the nuns on the church is very spiritual. Irrespective of what God one is believing, that 30 minutes gives a holy feeling and inner peace. The spot of the church also really magnificent with a fantastic view of the city. With a ticket one can go and visit the church dome which would give you a even better view. Will definitely come back when I am back to Paris.
A must-see spot when in Paris. The place was recommended to us by locals. The recommendation is to get there before sunset and stay for the evening views. The photos don't do the place justice. The church itself is very beautiful. You can tour the inside around the left area (limited). You can walk around the right side all the way up to the altar area. You can finalize your visit to the area with a dinner. There are many dinner spots around the corner.
The Basilica itself is SO BEAUTIFUL!!! The art and architecture is so captivating. For a small cost, you can go to the top, but I sadly did not have enough time. Everyone needs to be very aware of the scam artists on the way up the hill. Please educate yourself before coming. People will tie bracelets on your wrist or ask you to sign a petition. Stuff like that.
A beautiful cathedral. It's at the top of a hill and since we came from the train station, we started at the bottom of the hill. Google, of course, doesn't indicate the amount of stairs/climbing that we needed to do, so we opted to walk the entire way. The cathedral is free to walk in, and they were having a service during which was interesting to witness. It's not very big inside and I think most of the attraction is climbing all the way to the top to get some of the best panoramic views in the city. It was an incredibly hot day and it costs about 6 euros or so to get to the top of the cathedral, so we opted out -- but I imagine that's what the highlight of this church is since the ground level area took about 10m to walk through entirely.
The basilica itself is incredible, there is no doubt about that. Was fortunate to visit whilst a service was in progress and heard some amazing organ tunes played with a small choir. Unfortunately, the place was not given any reverence by its foreign patrons. Despite no photography signs posted everywhere, people were disrespectful in that regards. Additionally, silence was no adhered to and turned the place into a typical tourist hotspot, almost similar to the same vibe as the Louvre. This was the first church I had experienced where there was no respect or reverence, and thus was severely disappointed. Even those that appeared to be in the employ of the church were not steadfast in their enforcement of house rules.
