Théâtre de la Madeleine is one of the lesser-known performing arts theaters in Paris. It was established in 1924 and is influenced by the English style theaters. It became an instant hit when Marcel Pagnol’s The Merchants of Glory was presented here. Many of the plays by the famous French actor Sacha Guitry were hosted here during the 1930s as well.
