No.6 Restaurant, Patong Reviews
Love this place. There is a reason people Queue up! No fuss local cuisine. It is very cosy which definitely adds to the authentic charm- the staff are constantly under the pump and are very efficient- there is no idly standing around here. Very cheap authentic local food!
Food: 3/5 Ordered the fried fish with garlic and fried rice with shrimp and split it between two people. Food was average. Order any dish with shrimp and it comes with only 4 pieces. Environment: 1/5 Don’t come here expecting a nice and relaxing experience. It is crowded and open to the busy street. There is usually a line, but there is a shuttle that is available to bring you to the other location to cut wait times. Staff seemed stressed and was rushing to seat people, take orders and clean tables. One was particularly rude to my friend who came halfway through the meal and wanted to sit with us to chat and wait while we finished our food but it wasn’t allowed even though there was a spot at our table of 3.
Cheap, authentic and delicious thai food. Favourite dishes are their phad thai and the clams (says oysters in their menu). Stir fried glass noodle and grilled pork neck were delicious as well. The place is always crowded so be prepared to queue even outside usual mealtimes and share table with others. The staff will just slot you into any space they can find. One star less because the restaurant is not very clean, but it is still acceptable for most people, and I would still return for the food.
They serve the food really fast. Food is delicious and price is reasonable.
Visited May 20th 2018. Crowded as usual, about 10~15 waiting time. Food was served reasonably fast. I have best ever pad thai in my life, chewy rice noodle with flavoring sauces. Regret that ordered small size. Also had pineapple rice and fried prown which were moderately fine, but not the best. Beer was served not enough chilled. Price range of 150~300 regular dishes. 4 stars for pad thai alone, but other than that, not really worth to try for value. However, I'm going again for pad thai tonight.
