The Elephant Village offers magnificent beasts in a safe and secure haven, where they enjoy life with freedom and respect. It is amongst highly visited Thailand tourist places. As a visitor, you can choose to contribute to the betterment and well-being of these gentle beasts. The village comes alive with exciting events like a dramatic presentation of the everyday lives of elephants and their capture, the training, and feeding. You also get the opportunity to get photographed along sides these beasts.
The Elephant Village in Pattaya is a safe sanctuary for those elephants where they can live as close to their natural habitat as possible. It offers you a once in a lifetime opportunity to spend time close to this magnificent creation of nature. Visiting this place is a must thing to do in Pattaya. The sanctuary inhabits and cares for former working elephants which are ill or suffering injuries. This is a great opportunity for you to do your part in saving and caring for these elephants. It is a non-profit sanctuary and the fee that is paid by you goes to improve and provide facilities to these elephants. You can watch the training show and go for elephant trekking in this unique sanctuary. Location: The Elephant village is located 7km off Sukhumvit. Timing: Elephant show starts at 2:30 PM. Price: Price for Elephant Show is 500 baht per person. Price for elephant trek is 2000 baht per person.
PLEASE be cautious going here!!!! The treatment of these elephants is DISGUSTING! Initatially oblivious to the dangers of this industry, myself and my family rode the elephants only to witness abuse by the workers. The elephants were beaten, whipped, chained and at one point, myself and multiple other families were disturbed to see one elephant crying and bleeding from a bull hook. The village offers phots with the elephants, where they lift you up with their trunk for a money tip- one child became understandably hysterical after the elephant was beaten for not carrying him with his trunk. They do a great job of displaying these animals as ‘well loved,’ but in reality they are too fearful to retaliate. If you love elephants, I am urging to instead visit a sanctuary (one where the animals are not harmed) instead!
Very sad and cruel operation driven by making money... you will get pestered for tips by at least 20 people. Never seen such horrible cruelty towards animals. It’s appalling the Thai government doesn’t crack down on this. You can make a honest living running an honest operation that’s not cruel to animals.
I'm giving it 1 star for the elephant that I rode and not for the rider. Be prepaid that even when you have paid 1600baht to go to the elephant village and you get to ride the elephants the guy still wants a tip and when I gave him 20baht as thats all I had on me he push it back and said no give 100baht. He wasnt happy at all when I said that's all I had, he couldn't wait for me to get off the elephant. Also once the dancing show is over they ask if you would like to take photos with your own camera and then wont leave you alone until you pay them 100baht. Would I go here again or recommend it. NOPE!
