Saint Jacques de Pau shares a similar history to that of its counterpart, Saint Martin’s church. Here initially a chapel was constructed which soon became inadequate for the pilgrims. Hence the work on Saint Jacques de Pau began with funds of about 70,500 francs and was completed in 1861. As part of the Gothic revival movement this church is dedicated to Saint James, the apostle. Unlike other churches which usually have an organ located towards the east, Saint Jacques has one towards the north. From the time it was built, till now it houses the pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela.
