This is a great place to visit as an adult and with children! The butterfly section is great and is amazing to be walking among all the different species of butterflies as they are flying around you. There is other animals to see such as insects, snakes and spiders. They do an interactive show where people get a chance to handle a small selection of animals. The staff are super helpful and are more than happy to talk about the animals, it shows they really do care about them and have a lot of knowledge regarding them all.
A very informative place to visit, various butterfly, insects, spiders and snakes. Information at each location, telling you its name and country of origin. Friendly staff on hand to help with your questions. We happened to visit when it was handling time and was able to touch a millipede, a python and a big spider. The handler took them out individually and gave information on each as he did so and answered any questions before he got the next one out. He let the creatures on to your hand if you wanted to participate in the interaction with the species in question. A lovely place to visit with a nicely set out gift shop with smiling staff on the counter, well worth a look as we found out when in the area. If you're lucky you will be able to feed the giant tortoise at about 4'o clock when he is let loose to wander and be fed by the customer as I did. Excellent. 😋
Always worth a visit although they have lost the leaf cutter ants they would go from one tank all the way through to another tank and back again I was told they will be getting a new Queen soon so hopefully start a new farm. There is a lot of hands on with the insects and talks plus having all these Butterflies zipping around Grandson loved it. Definitely worth a visit.
Great place to explore especially with young children. It's a small place but lots to see. Keep in mind is exceptionally warm and humid inside for the comfort of the animals, so wear layers you can remove!
Fantastic place to visit. The handling sessions are second to none very very hands on the staff go out of their way to make sure no one misses out. As someone who has a keen interest in reptiles and arachnids i found the staff more than willing to discuss the animals in detail even went out of their way to try and introduce me to my favourite Tarantula the cobalt blue.
