Khecheopalri Lake - Review
Khecheopalri Lake is located at a distance of just 24 Kms from Pemayangtse Monastery, in the north-west direction of Pelling. The lake is of ultimate tourist value as it is considered as a holy lake by both Buddhists as well as Hindus. Popularly known as the Wishing Lake or Sho Dzo Sho, it is considered to be the emanation of goddess Tara blessed by Guru Rempoche. The miraculous part of the lake is that the surface of it remains clean in spite of it being surrounded by the thick forest from where a lot of leaves keep on falling. Apart from the beauty that this lake is encircled with, it is visited by large number of pilgrims from different directions who come and make wishes all through the year. The area round this lake is easily accessible with good roads and makes the place enjoyable in a day out by car or trekking. In case you decide to stay here overnight, then there a few guest houses available nearby.

Khecheopalri Lake, Pelling Reviews
The view point is a 30 minute climb from the lake and offers a great view of the lake. There is shack near the view point that serves Maggi.
A short hike up from the lake is the viewpoint. It affords a view of the entire lake from a viewing point on the hill behind the lake. Good views to see the shape of the lake (shaped like a foot print)
The view point as the name suggests gives a magnificent view of the lake and surroundings. It is a good half an hour hike up the mountain, a bit steep too, however the view is pretty good from the top.
We came here by Treking from Yuksom of 8km one side trail. It waa cery tough.it was my longest walk I had. So by reaching the the lake. There is 1km steap walk to the view point. We had Treking poles and it was very useful. Many people starts to rhe top and no one will complete. Its bit tougher. i went to the top with help of pole and The view of the lake was fantastic. It was clear sky and the whole lake can be seen from the view point. There is one shop in the top. Maggie momos water masalpuri etx are available there. But it costs bit high price. Water is available. You can rest in the view point. There is no fixed time of closing.
A holy lake for Buddhism. Tranquil Waters, just sitting around the lake, one feels relaxed.
