With a drive of half an hour from the Kota Kinabalu is the cultural village of Monsopiad and just across the village is the House of Skulls. The village was erected by the progenies of Monsopiad, Sabah’s greatest warrior and is still managed and maintained by them. The house, which is a major tourist attraction, has a collection of 42 skulls, all of which hang from the rafters, of those who met their fate at the hands of the fearless warrior. Mostly the skulls belong to the pirates and thugs who tried to raid the village. At the House of Skulls, you will still be able to feel the valor and fearlessness and wrath of Monsopiad.
