Built in 2004, the Penang floating mosque was built to replace the older mosque which was damaged in the Tsunami. Set along the stretch of Tanjung Bungah beach, the mosque displays Moorish architecture, has 7-storied minarets and offers a 360 degree view of the sea.
It is spread over 1295 square metre and can accommodated up to 1500 people during prayer times. The mosque is beautiful even if observing from outside.
