Prospect Hill Lookout - Review
512 steps up will take you to the top of the hill. It was from here that Captain Matthew Flinders surveyed Kangaroo Island. And he couldn’t have had a better spot: you can American River, Pelican Lagoon, the Southern Ocean and Pennington Bay! The lookout is on the narrowest part of Kangaroo Island, which makes the views even more striking. On your way up, and on the top, you’ll spot signs that explain the nature of the geology, the flora and the fauna you can find in the area. The 500 metre trail is called the Investigator Trail. Walking it is one of the most popular activities on the island.
Trivia: the hill was once known as Mount Thisby.
