Ella Spice Garden Reviews & Ratings

  • This place is great for anyone who loves to cook and is curious about how their spices come to be. Joshua was an excellent host who took me around the garden to show me the befores and after of ginger, cacao, coffee, pepper, turmeric, cardamom, nutmeg and so much more. Place was a little confusing to find - follow google until it says you're there (there's a small shop on the right)and there's a sign pointing towards the garden 60m down a winding gravel road. Follow that road.

  • Don't go there, they are thiefs! Everything is too expensive, overpriced and products what they are selling is waste like for example vanilla, if there is two drops of real vanilla inside it's good.

  • AVOID! The perfect place to be cheated ... don't buy anything from this place the price is 40 times more than other shops!!! They will try to persuade in very nice way explaining you things in the beginning, once you land in their shop they will advice you to buy products with a price 40 times higher than should...

  • I tremwndously enjoyed the tour. They walk you in around the different trees they explain what they extract from it they make you smell the essential oils and they give you a free massage. Personally I enjoyed the massage to the max. What they sell most of it is fake and inefficient and expensive. Yet the tour and information are nice. It takes around 2 hours.

  • Do not buy anything in the shop! The tour was very fun and informative, the guide was charasmatic and really knew his stuff. After the tour you are lured through the shop, which is filled with incredibly expensive items which are much much cheaper to get down the road in Kandy. All in all, it's a bit of a tourist trap but as long as you avoid the shop it's not a bad way to spend 90mins.
