Spice Walk, Thekkady Reviews
Abraham's spice garden is an encyclopedia about spices and medicinal plants. We will get indebth knowledge about each plants only when we visit there.I strongly recommend everyone those who are interested should visit there once in a Lifetime to explore the world of spices.
I would recommend anyone visiting Kumily and Thekkady should visit this almost 65 years old Abraham's Spice Garden. You could see, feel and take in the aroma of the spices. They take you around the garden explaining each plant, tree, flower, fruit, nuts. You could buy fresh spices from their shop. Mr Abraham is a kind and patient person. He credits his grandfather who started the garden in early 1950s.
Impressive gardens and great hospitality. Showed up spontaneously and still got a great guided tour by Abraham himself. We tried many fresh fruits and spices on the way through the gardens, all for free. They have a nice little spice shop, too, to support the gardens. Overall a very informative and entertaining visit. Definitely a highlight of our trip!
Huge variety of spice plants and shrubs. Good quality of spices are also available at very reasonable prices. Enjoying walking thru the garden with my family
This is more than worth the visit - great place to see for oneself the real spices of the word in the garden at Abraham's spice Garden - never in life visited a spice Garden - so the first timers should take atleast 1 hour minimum to get to know a variety of spices - the aroma- colour- types - size - flowers - plants- trees, 200 to 300 years old in this 60 year old spice plantation Garden - don't think twice whether to visit or not - should visit - Guide is excellent in knowledge - and there are also spices for sale in small and big quantities
