Huntingtower Castle, Perth Reviews

  • Gorgeous castle, but be aware that you have to climb narrow spiral staircases to see most of it (including the amazing 500 year old painted ceiling). This is definitely helped by having fixed brass handrails all the way up both of them (so much better than the rope ones that many properties have) but you will need to be able bodied and fit to get much from this one. Not great for smaller children as the stairs can be quite steep but otherwise very worth a visit

  • It was very quiet when we visited. There were no guides or guided tours, we were told to wander around anywhere we wanted to go! We had to buy a guide book to give us any information about the castle and it's history.

  • Quite interesting. Worth stopping bye will take about 30 to 60 minutes to look around.

  • Beautiful castle with a colorful history. One of the few castles we have visited that felt like a home and hadn't been covered with wood on the inside. Wonderful service from the ticket reception, she was lovely!!

  • A very small castle by comparison, but this was simply a very small portion for what was once a grand complex. The inside is relatively small, dare I say cozy compared to some other castles. But don't let its small size fool you, it played a big part in the shaping of country's history. I won't spoil it for you, go check it out and find out for yourself.
