A wonderful scene to look at, Meikleour Beech Hedges is the world’s tallest and longest hedge. Planted in the year 1745, it is said to grow towards heavens. Jean Mercer and her husband, Robert Murray Nairne planted this hedge, and since the husband lost his life in the Battle of Culloden, it is said so. It is 30 meters tall and 530 meters long, which makes for a lush sight to enjoy! Meikleour Beech Hedges are located near Meikleour in Scotland and is a wonderful way to enjoy your drive here. It is pruned every 10 years and is kept at its best all year long!
