About Cervejaria Bohemia, Petropolis

It says something about a town’s character when its foremost attraction is a giant brewery. Indeed, it styles itself as Brazil’s largest brewery. Its guided tours are immensely popular. They take you through the thousands of years of the history of beer, by the way of fun of interactive exhibits of light, sound and 3D videos – the tour is chock full in interesting trivia. And after the history, there’s the tour of the brewery itself, taking you through all the different stages of making beer. Obviously, as with all great brewery tours, there is a beer tasting session at the end. You can finish up your visit either at the bar or at the restaurant.

Cervejaria Bohemia, Petropolis Reviews

  • This was one of the best parts of my visit in Petropolis. The first half of the tour is a museum of the history and science of beer. The displays are in Portuguese, but almost all of them have English translations. The displays were beautiful and informative. The last half is a guided tour. Our guide spoke in Portuguese, which was difficult for me. However, most of the displays were straightforward enough and interesting enough that I wasn't bored and didn't feel left out. After the guided tour, we were given a flight of 3 different beers to taste (and children were given juice so they didn't feel left out). The gift shop had many great gifts for me to bring back home. The restaurant had great vegetarian options (and of course, beer), and the service was excellent. I highly recommend you do this tour!

  • The beers alone are worth the tour. Nice.

  • Prices are a bit on the high side... Should be cheaper! Don't they brew it on premises?

  • We had our high school reunion there today (01/04/2017). What a mistake! The food was terrible. It took a long time for people to get served. My pasta was raw! My husband's burger was dry and the fries were cold and soggy. My friend got the desert and had to wait a good twenty minutes for the utensils. We were asked to move from the place we were for two hours. The manager (a lady), moved us to the varanda. We did. It was COLD! Not long after that, we were asked to move again! Unbelievable! My classmates and myself, right then and there, decided never put foot on that place again! Too bad... the place is beautiful and the beer is superb.

  • Boring.. Not compare with other brewery museas. On top. If you not want to listen to the boring stuff you not get the one glass free beer on the end ha ha ha what a joke.
