Boathouse Row - Review
Regattas became cool everywhere after the Social Network came out. Sure, you might not have “In the Hall of the Mountain King” playing in the background, but the races here are terrific nevertheless. The fifteen boathouses, each owned by a particular club all have their own history – and they are all at least a century old. You want to know the history of each? Go visit – they’ll only be too eager to tell you. These boathouses are the centre of most rowing sports in the US, holding events at all levels from high school al the way up to nationals. In the 1970’s they were done up with pretty lights – which when lit, give the effect of a shining Gingerbread House. This unusual place has thus been named a national historic landmark. Most of the Boathouses here are part of group called the Schuylkill Navy. If not here for the races, the road along the riverside here makes for a terrific cycling, jogging or walking track.

Boathouse Row, Philadelphia Reviews
This is a great place for putting on your best Louis Winthorpe accent and ridiculing anyone who went to a state college.
Boathouse Row is a very famous landmark to Philadelphians. Located along the east bank of the Schuylkill River, it in known for having all pf the boathouses outlined in lights at night, providing a lovely sight from across the river. The boathouse we visited (#10) for a party hosted by friends was picturesque and a lovely party space with a great balcony overhanging the river offering a pictureaque view of the city center.
Amazing place to practice the art of rowing in a historical place known as the birthplace of American rowing! Row in a place in place magnificently depicted by Thomas Eakins in his rowing paintings! If you are in Philadelphia do not miss visiting Boathouse Row, also, the home of the oldest active rowing club in the country, Bachelors Barge Club, founded in 1853!
Beautiful place for Philadelphia residents to visit. You can walk along the sidewalk and see a number of cool buildings, architecture, and actually visit with some of the boat rowers that are there.
Gotta love this place!! The views, the events, the people...... one of my favorite philly spots!
