Philadelphia Zoo, Philadelphia Reviews

  • You could easily spend all day here. Zoo360 was amazing and I haven't seen that at other zoos that I've been to. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable. The Watering Hole served as a perfect midway checkpoint for my group. The drinks were reasonably priced. If you don't want to pay for parking there's street parking 2 blocks away from the entrance.

  • I don't think I've been to the zoo since I was a kid before this weekend, but a friend invited me to spend time with her and her friends and family for her birthday. The exhibits have changed a lot since I was a kid, but each change is for the better as the animals have more places to roam with their 360 experience. Like the commercials encourage, it's important to look in all directions for the animals; tigers or small mammals might be crossing overhead! I was in awe of how much the big cat exhibit has changed and getting to see the animals so close up. We traveled to some exhibits to see the zookeepers feed the animals and answer questions from attendees. The staff was very knowledgeable and engaging with the information they were presenting and had great enthusiasm and passion for what they do. I would love to go back again sometime soon.

  • This is a great place to have fun with kids. It’s not huge (as compared to Bronx zoo) but I would say keep at least 5 hours if you are with kids , including lunch so that you don’t have to rush. I used The Philadelphia Pass but ticket prices were reasonable. I think, this Zoo is very thoughtfully designed, 1. Various attractions are placed in a way that you either visit in door exhibitions or walk through dense shadow of trees after every now and then. 2. Variety of Food options are available at various places so you always see something to eat/ drink nearby which is very important when you have kids with you. So if you see long queues or some wait time, feel free to walk little further and you will find another option nearby. Maps are useful to locate such options. 3. You can carry your own food and there are plenty of picnic areas available at various key locations. 4. Plenty of restrooms available at various places 5. Though zoo is small and Animals have smaller area , it’s designed in a way that you will have more visibility. 6. Wide variety of animals like Giraffe, penguins, lions , tigers, zebras, kangaroos, hippos , Rhinos and many more. 7. Attractions like kids train, carousel, bird feeding, face painting are available at some extra fee. 8. Friendly staff always ready to extend their help 9.Parking wasn’t far from zoo exhibitions. 10. Centrally located in heart of Philly. In short, this is a wonderful place and I hope, you will enjoy it.

  • Such a great trip! All of the employees were great! Very informative! There was a small goat petting zoo for young favorite was the orangutan exhibit! Really cool to watch! We also saw Beau the 3 month old adorable! Overall great experience!!

  • The zoo is my favorite place to visit. The staff is by far the most courteous group of people that i have ever come across. When you come to an exhibit and have a question they always have the knowledge about that particular exhibit. The zoo has something for everyone of any age to enjoy. The zoo is kept spotless even the restrooms are kept clean. I do try and visit at least once a month. Buying a membership is highly recommended.
