This church is officially known as the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is a Roman Catholic Church under the Diocese of Phoenix. It is the 1st Roman Catholic Church in upper Phoenix and also the place that conserves the largest collection of stained glasswork.
The architecture and design of the church is a combination of Mission Revival and Spanish Colonial Revival styles. The typical design of domes stretching along the whole length of the basilica looks nice here. The pillars and the cupola are two other attractive features here. It is popular among the local people who come for the regular masses and also the periodic events hosted by the body of church officials.

Beautiful 😍 just glorious!
Shame on you St. Mary's! My husband and I approached the church about possibly providing emergency shelter for a few Catholic women and young children refugees from Central America and we were turned away. Not once but, twice. First, we were given a flyer for some homeless shelters and told to look elsewhere. On our second try we were told that it was not within their jurisdiction. Well if giving emergency help those who are most in need and who by the way are catholic is not within your jurisdiction what is?!? Mind you we were not asking for money, we gave the people supplies(diapers, formula, socks, underwear). It is emergency shelter or help with emergency shelter we asked help with. These were women with infants and very young children. Shame on you St. Mary's! This type of hypocrisy is despicable.
We love being a part of the parish at St Mary's Basilica. This is the friendliest Church we have attended. They clearly take their Franciscan roots to heart and embrace the people who come to them. Thank you, St Mary's Basilica, for shining as an example of God's love.
