About Freedom Beach, Phuket

On the west coast of Phuket Island, south of Patong, is a beautiful beach of aquamarine blue waters and soft white sand enclosed by a canopy of green trees. In other words, this is cliche of tropical beauty. The southern section of the beach is one of the best places the entire island for snorkeling. You won't be disturbed by hawkers trying to sell their wares. There are some ramshackle sports facilities, such as volleyball net and football goal posts. Apparently you need to pay to lay down a towel on the sand, even if that's towel is your own. And while this beach is mostly undeveloped, you do get showers and toilets. There's an extremely tasty Thai restaurant on the south end, and there is a massage center next to the restaurant. Visitors usually love this beach for being much cleaner than Patong Beach.

Freedom Beach, Phuket Reviews

  • We got to this beach on foot. It requires a lot of effort. We were exhausted after this kind of a hike. When we got there we saw a bamboo kiosk with random people requiring to pay 200B each to enter the beach. When we asked what is this for? and what we will get in return? They said that we can't bring water, food or any other trash in the beach it is forbidden because this beach is protected. These people didn't have any badges, no t-shirts with signs. They look as a bunch of racketeers asking to pay for crossing the territory. I wouldn't mind paying this fee if in the beach would be no trash and trash boxes would be installed. However the beach surroundings are full of plastic and trash. The Freedom beach itself I would rate very good because it has white sand and turquoise color water. This beach is a very popular and there is a lot of people. The majority of them reach this beach by long tail boat or Tuk-tuk. Despite the requirements for the food in the beach there is a small restaurant where you can get a lunch.

  • Secluded, clean little beach. Accesible by boat or a long hike. Definitely take the boat! There is a little restaurant and bar. Perfect for a care-free day.

  • View: very nice jungle surrounded also rocks Beach: soft white sand Food: one small place selling food, fruits and drinks Activities: relax, swim and snorkel there’s Crowd: its Not much secluded anymore so expect public Notice: it’s prohibited to bring outside food or get there by private jet-ski so don’t try

  • Take a cab or tuk there, then a longboat back, the walk back up out is brutal, but the walk down is beautiful. This beach has soft sand a fewer people. Paradise beach is full of coral and is shallow this is a better swimming beach!

  • You have to pay 200bht ti go there. Long stairway ti arrive in the beach but it's very good Place ti relax. Not many boat. It's better for young people, not so much for children and people who don't climb very well. I'd like a higer price to made it more exclusive
