About Karon Temple Market, Phuket

This open-air Market is exactly like every other Open Air Market in Phuket. Basically you should avoid to the branded stuff and go for the local stuff. The products are all blatantly targeting tourists, from the swimsuits to the multi boxer shorts, cheap sunglasses, the sarongs, the cheap jewelry, and the souvenirs. The local stuff is of some serious interest. You can get carved soap bars, skin treatment products, and different kinds of cosmetics and of course you should definitely check out the food. There are a lot of different varieties of Thai street food here. You'll also find confections, fried insects, grilled meat, fruit shakes, and Northern Thai style sausages among other exotic dishes. Combine this with a trip to the actual temple. It's a nice atmospheric market with lots of local flavor and bustling energy.

Karon Temple Market, Phuket Reviews

  • Market crowed and hot in enclosed tented areas. Some sellers still try overinflated prices, so know what you want to pay and stick to it. Nice fresh fruit juice and corn on cob.

  • Wonderful experience, interesting food options and loads of stalls offering clothing, sunglasses, leather goods, trinkets, watches etc. Plenty of options to buy gifts or just enjoy the atmosphere.

  • Bought a few things here! Vendors are less likely to want to bargain than at some of the other markets in Phuket, but stand your ground or walk away - they're not buying their products for any more than anyone else, whatever they tell you. To accept the first price offered is considered very stupid in Thai culture, consider your top price for the item beforehand then offer at most half your final price, and bargain up with deep outward regret and you will be fine! Remember that it's all part of the game ūüé≤ and Thai people appreciate a good player!

  • Ok market for basic needs. Sunglasses, clothes ect. But kind of small if you compare it to Na Ka Market. Lovely place thought - hence the fourth star!

  • Every Thursday and Friday evening market from 16 till 22 hours. Foods, clothes, beauty and electronic products. So like a usual market. Familiar size, good atmosphere.
