The turquoise waters of this coral jewel to the south of Phuket are an undisputed marine paradise. There is not much to do on the island itself, for the beaches are rocky with only some areas of powdery white sand, and most of the area are underdeveloped. There are paths criss-crossing it which you can take from beach to beach, passing coconut groves, with a hilltop with views to the south of the island. But what you’re really here for is the snorkelling and scuba diving, for the waters are rich with marine life. Swimming in the bays can be fun so long you are mindful of the boats coming in and out all the time. There are a number of places to stay, and the island has a small village where you can purchase daily necessities.
- Do not go swimming out off shore.
- Internet and mobile access is active on the island.
- Take a chartered boat from Ao Chalong and Rawai.

The Racha Yai Island is also known as Ko Racha Ya is a very beautiful place which is around 12 km from both Phuket and Bangkok. This place is very clean with the beautiful blue color sea. The beaches of this place are mesmerizing and are beautiful. This place is most famous for its diving. It is paradise for people who love to swim in the ocean. Its white sand crescent bay makes it a very mesmerizing bay. Among the places to Visit in Thailand, this place is famous for the various amazing marine resources that are found here. Some of the authentic mouth smacking Thai cuisine is found in this place.
This is one of the popular and close to Phuket destinations of snorkeling and white sand beaches. It is of course a personal taste if one likes crowded places or not... However, there are still relatively well preserved corral reefs suitable for snorkeling. Unfortunately, the closer to the beach, the more damaged are corrals and the fewer in numbers are fish. Situation is becoming better along rocky shores away from beach. Also, seems that waste management on the island is quite far from even satisfactory one (maybe it is not a good idea to go to the forest... ).
Amazing water. Don't miss it at any cost. Try snorkelling it's gonna be a good experience.
Really beautiful island paradise. Take an arranged ferry from Phuket for a day trip there to swim, snorkel, surf and have some nice food. The beach is wonderful with very clear waters n fine sand. Waves can be strong pending the tide conditions n weather. There are some vendors n shops selling food n souvenirs. Must brings are sun cream, head gear, spare dry change of clothes, beach shoes, toiletries. Optionals are snorkeling gear, fishing gear, underwater cam! There are toilet facilities on the island which one can use for a small fee. Hot tip - don’t drink the tap water. It’s a beautiful place to spend a day by the beach. Should u wish to one can hire sea sports gear etc from vendors on the beach.
I was just speechless. No word could be enough to describe the beauty of this Island. I don't want to die before going there once more time. If u are going to Phuket then don't miss this island. U can have lunch as well as snacks. If anyone want to stay there, lots of resort are available.
