Nai Yang Beach - Review

This west facing beach is to the south of Mai Khao beach and has relatively more activities, but still benefits from the lack of a main road. It is adjacent to the Sirinat National Park. The airport viewpoint this beach shares with the Mai Khao beach can be considered its northernmost point. The shady palm trees make this beach a popular place to picnic. It’s peppered with little bars and restaurants, so you don't even have to bring your own food or drinks.  It is more popular with the locals than with the tourists and you'll see many of the local kids flying kites.

  • The walk way to access to the plane taking off or landing point is about a kilometer walk, unless you stay at the hotel. Nice beach to walk along. Planes are in/out every less than 5 min. Strongly recommend to go there during the landing period to have a spectacular picture.

  • You might wanna take cover when a plane is taking off. Especially the big ones like Boeing 777 and Airbus A330. The best time to experience 'engine power' is in the morning. Planes usually land and take off from opposite direction after noon because of the wind.

  • We follow google map and it took us to the private road but we did reach the beach and walk along the pathway to the view of the takeoff planes. It was a very nice area but too bad people leave a lot garbage behind.

  • This is the spot you want if you enjoy plane watching. On a clear non-rainy day you can get some really decent shots of aircraft landing and taking off. Right on the beach across from the airport. On the day I was there naturally it was raining. My luck. I hope you have a better day then me.

  • It is a perfect place for plane spotting as it is at the end of the runway of HKT. Be frank it is a little but difficult to access because this viewpoint should be entered from Mai Khao Beach instead of Nai Yang Beach. This point is literally the connection point between the two beaches. Becareful of the duk duk driver, they are so dishonest. The cost of transportation from the airport by taxi should be $200 THB for two ways. You have to walk for 10 mins after dropping off. Dislike the maltreatment by the taxi driver.
