About Otop Patong, Phuket
OTOP stands for One Tambon One Product. This is taken from a similar Japanese scheme in which the single greatest product from a particular village or neighbourhood is chosen to be sold at the Central Market. The product becomes the defining representative of that neighbourhood and helps improve the source neighbourhood’s image and brand. The market draws its crowd by the way of the many bars that opens up around it at night. It is otherwise quite quiet in the daytime. But once you get started on shopping, if you're a shopaholic, you are going to have a ball. T-shirts, travel bags, silly apparel, handicraft, picture frames and vases - the collection is very eclectic.

Otop Patong, Phuket Reviews
This is a place you go to shop. There are shopping booths all over with everything you can imagine. Clothing, plates, spoons, souviners , food and much much more. You could spend your day here wandering around shopping, stopping to eat and even get some fresh juice to drink as you keep on shopping away.
This place is an all in one. Lots of market stalls and shops for the shopaholics. Lots of bars and a few restaurants. We ate at San Sabai restaurant on the corner more than once. Good food and not expensive only thing is that it does get busy in the evening rush. Good place to visit.
Extremely disappointed with the shopping here I had heard so many good things and was looking forward to visiting this well known shopping district but it just didn’t live up to what I had hear, rude stall holders and trying to rip us off (eg. trying to sell us fake Nike replica runners for $90 Australian dollars and fake replica bags for $100 Australian dollars from their “secret back room”) They were calling us rude and telling us to get out when we said we could buy the real runners for the same price or probably less Wouldn’t even bother going for the shopping there is jungcylon shopping centre a bit further up that sell the exact same things cheaper then 3/4 of the stalls.
Great market, you can find almost the same stuff in every store though. But each store owner is so different , some are keen to negotiate some are not. Overall great place for gifts and almost everything is made in Thailand which is awesome.
This market is located in patong beach and there are millions of items that you can buy, besides, there are also many options for food and drinks. It's easy to navigate and you can walk throughout the place at ease. Thai food is excellent here and the prices are very very good.
