Phuket Aquarium - Review

Though this aquarium is quite small it has been extensively renovated and a terrific central exhibit has been added. This is the ‘Tunnel’, a 10 meter long glass underwater walk. It is thrillingly immersive. Right outside the tunnel is giant cod in its own large tank. Some of the other fish you can expect to see here include sharks, piranhas, cuttlefish, seahorses, dolphins, eel and colorful tropical fish. If you’re inclined to scuba dive around Phuket, the aquarium has some good resources on what you should expect to see in the waters surrounding the island. The aquarium’s other main task is to conduct marine biological research, and to breed sea turtles.

  • Perfect place to bring the young ones on a Sunday afternoon... Extensive marine life on display.. Even a touch pool is at the entrance... An audio visual show highlights the effect of indiscriminate rubbish throwing that can destroy the fragile ecosystem.. A souvenir shop is a must stop for the delightful visit...

  • his wonderful aquarium holds a major spot in Thailand tourist places as it offers the spectators the opportunity to witness sea life without physically being in the sea. It houses a tunnel and various tanks ranging from small to gigantic that have interesting fish species on the display. Some of the rarest marine creatures you can find here are dolphins, piranhas from Amazon, longhorn cowfish and boxfish which are a treat to the visitors.

  • 🤔 Depends on what you like. VERY BIG fish, VERY WEIRD deep-ocean specimens, VERY UGLY eels 😱 Exhibits are limited, building is dated and part of the outdoor areas were closed for upgrading works (July '18). Otherwise, worth a visit if you have the time. Caution: No other attractions in the area - Panwa Cape. I went early (😵 very early) for photos of the Sunrise nearby + breakfast. Open at 8:30 ensures privacy.

  • Maybe this place is not worth a visit for someone familiar to aquariums but because the only one in my city back home is empty, this place is awesome for me. I saw creatures that I never saw before in my life. Wide variety of fishes and other sea organisms. True beauty. Very cheap entry fees makes the visit almost free. The distance from patong was the only buzz here. No regrets

  • It's very small 30 minutes and you have seen it all ,lovely fish very clean ,its on the south side of the island about a hour from Laguna , if its raining, to pass the time it's worth the trip. 😎🌵
