Phuket Botanic Garden - Review

This is quite an extensive and thorough Botanical Garden for an island like Phuket. The many plants are cordoned off into specialized areas such as the Japanese garden, the French garden, the rainforest section, the Orchid Garden, the Palm Garden and the Cactus Garden. Every exhibit is beautifully arranged and makes for lovely photographic opportunities. Careful attention has been paid to detail to give you an insight what are the conditions of growth for all these plans really look like. Two gardens in particular stand out. These are the farmer’s garden which has a small rice field and a vegetable garden; and the Winter Garden where the temperature is always kept at 20 degrees Celsius. And they have just recently added a butterfly garden too.

Phuket Botanic Garden, Phuket Reviews

  • Nice place to wander around for say 40 minutes. Peaceful away from the traffic. Good parking, hardly anyone there when I went. No butterflies in butterfly house. Can feed fish with a cheap bag of food. Different themes, nice orchids. 500 Baht entry...

  • Too expensive for what is there. It is nice for a wander. Feeding the koi is fun but there are no butterflies in the butterfly garden and the orchids were hugely disappointing. There are some parrots and other birds in cages dotted around which, whilst entertaining, are a real shame as these should be in the wild. If you are enticed by the named gardens eg the English Garden, you will be disappointed. Mostly, these are made up of statues and very few plants. The English Garden had a few statues of a postbox, children playing leapfrog, etc but no English plants... Overall, pricey and disappointing.

  • Has a large variety of different gardens from around the world. Rainforest garden, cactus garden, fern garden, orchid garden are some of the highlights of the place. Very relaxed place and is a different pace to busy Patong. Takes about 90 minutes to complete the tour and can also feed fish. Good way to spend the afternoon with your family.

  • This is absolutly not worth the entrance of 500 bath. It's just like any garden. The orcids is mostly made of plastic. Not worth the money.☹

  • The botanical gardens of pachet were truly magical we had a wonderful time there although we were extremely hot steaming And loving every minute of it :)
