Phuket Trickeye Museum - Review

This museum’s attractions are very literal.  Making use of the artistic technique known as Trompe-l'œil (the trick of creating a 3D image on a 2D background), the museum is an exhibition of virtual and 3D paintings. It’s quite unlike any other attraction in all of Phuket. There are about 100 painted and sculpted scenes to check out, each more audacious than the last. The first room looks like a classic painting gallery, with recreations of works by Van Gogh, Munch, Leonardo Da Vinci among others. The other rooms are much stranger, with gigantic installations that seem to leap out from the walls at you. The most fun activity for visitors is to insert themselves into the painting and/or interact with it in some way.

Phuket Trickeye Museum, Phuket Reviews

  • Can take an array of pictures with optical illusions as effects. Great way to spend the afternoon with your family as can have plenty of fun doing animations to the illustrations. Place is air conditioned so can get away from the heat outside. Price is slightly higher for foreign tourists than locals. Would recommend this place to my friends.

  • For what it is, this place is ridiculously expensive. 500 baht per person will get you several meals or a full day island hopping in Phuket. It's also the same price as entry to the Grand Palace in Bangkok, which is infinitely cooler, not to mention more unique and more cultural. It takes 30 min tops to walk around here and take some funny pictures. Save your money and go somewhere else.

  • An amazing 3D painting museum. It is an interactive museum that stimulates your creative side. There are various masterpieces and three dimensional pictures that you can be a part of. It would be really good if the museum had a wandering member of staff to take photos as some of the pictures need two people to be part of it. It's a great place five minutes out of Phuket town.

  • One of attraction in Phuket. With 500 bath per person, you can walk around and take picture as you like. They may as you to take off your shoes. If you like to take photo, this is one of the good place.. maybe spend 1,5-2 hours here. With small kids ( mine is 3years ) , they dont understand and tiring for them since the area is quite big. But for oldies who like to take picture, they’ll love it. Depends on the person like to have a photo or not.

  • Wonderful place to take children. Many funny photo opportunities. Its also just the right amount of time. Took us just over an hour to get through the museum. Price a bit on the high side but all in all a nice change and lots of fun for adults and kids.
