Phuket Weekend Market - Review

A word of warning before you head into the treasures of this Market. If there's anything in the market that looks branded, it is fake. This has practically no exceptions. The market basically has three sections. The covered section has the second hand goods, and it is quite intriguing, with a items of fair to good quality. The open section is the new goods. And the last section is the food section. There are a lot of clothes, accessories, everyday items, bags and perfumes. If you want quality, try to look for the stuff made by local designers. Do not by any high priced items here. In food, you’ll find corn, BBQ meats, fishcakes, fried everything, beer and ice-cream, to name a few.

Phuket Weekend Market, Phuket Reviews

  • You can find so many things here! It's like a food heaven! You can try so many delicacies at very cheap prices. Try their fresh watermelon juice or milk tea. Have the food while they're still warm, they're not very nice when eaten cold. They also sell other things like souvenirs, gifts, shirts, stationery, jewellery, etc.. a lot of random but interesting stuff.

  • Lots of great food and drink (non alcoholic) options. A great way to survey a bunch of different foods - lots of streetfood. Also one side is more crafts but the usual touristy stuff. Not bad, but not great. There's live music going on, and even a karaoke area too which is fun to watch.

  • Very pleasant Sunday market, lots of food to choose from, especially if you eat meat. If you are a vegetarian it may be more difficult to find something, but still the choices are abundant. There is one guy off to the side of the road that makes homemade gelato I wish I could remember his name but it is absolutely excellent and I thoroughly recommend anybody trying to find him.

  • Very busy and crowded market but worth visiting for the experience. There is some interesting street food on offer and all of it is freshly prepared and delicious. They had some live entertainment as well which was great to see. Taxis can be particularly hard to find in this area but we approached a local policeman who was very helpful and flagged one down for us.

  • Worth a look. Smaller than we expected but some unique items to be found not seen in other markets or local shops. Great food to try. Paid 550 baht for nice taxi back to Patong beach.
