Rang Hill - Review

To the north of Phuket town lies the Khao Rang hill. This place is a meeting place and a hang out spot for the locals but is also a great place for the tourists to get some amazing views in of the city and the area surrounding it.

The walk up is slightly challenging but if you do endure it, you are rewarded with an amazing vantage point perched high on top a hill overlooking an amazing valley. It is a wonderful place to watch the sun go down and observe the monkeys which are perennially present in the area.

  • Superb view of Phuket town. A taxi from the centre of town cost us 200 baht each way, which was pretty reasonable split between 5 of us. There is a little shelter, but it doesn’t give absolute protection from the heaviest of monsoon season rain, so take umbrellas and/or ponchos if visiting in monsoon season.

  • It's a pleasant place to visit as you tour around Phuket. The view point is good and you are able to see the town. The area is kept clean and welcoming. There are cafes and restaurants if you decide to stop here for lunch or a quick bite with an amazing view.

  • I really love this place! It is free, near the Phuket Town, and offers a spectacular view of Phuket from above. You can see high rise buildings meet the sea, sky, and mountains in one frame. The place is not too crowded, taking some selfies is still comfortable enough. There are some benches as well.

  • Place is peaceful. Wild monkeys everywhere. You can actually walk from town and along the way you'll see a temple. It cost a lot when you take taxi especially when you're alone but if you're in a group then it's fine. I didnt mind walking so I did, it took me 30mins. Kind of tiring bcoz it's uphill but the view and the wind helps me to enjoy walking. There are also stores that sells drinks and foods for an affordable price.

  • Beautiful viewpoint just 15 min. drive from Phuket Town Center (Clocktower) with motorbike or car. Even on Weekends not too crowded. Beautiful views over Phuket Town and the close bay. Choice of two restaurants over there. Beware the monkeys (shorttailed macaques) that are after any kind of food.
