This bridge is a fascinating attraction for many reasons. For one, it was the first bridge to connect the island of Phuket to mainland Thailand for vehicular traffic. Stretching directly from north to south, the bridge offers terrific views over both the Andaman Sea to the west and the Phang Nga Bay to the east. In other words it is magical at both sunrise and sunset. It has a pedestrian stretch of course, established in 2011, which is a popular walk among both locals and tourists. You will see fisherman angling to catch fish from the water below the bridge. Food and drink stalls have been set up as have some standard apparel stalls. If you have to choose between coming in the morning or the evening, the evening is better recommended. The bridge is very prettily lit up then.
