Soi Dog Foundation - Review
This one is for dog lovers. The driving principle behind this Foundation is to create a world without stray animals. The organisation works in multiple countries - Thailand, the United States, Australia, the UK, France, Canada and Holland. It helps rehabilitate and heal homeless and abused dogs, and works towards ending trade in dog meat. At this place it runs an animal shelter. In your tour of the facility you will get to meet hundreds of dogs, learn the history of how the foundation came to be, what its short and long term strategies are, and get to spend some highly informative time with the staff. These are a very inspiring people.

Soi Dog Foundation, Phuket Reviews
This place does so much good, to so many who need it and are so welcoming to any who want to help or share that experience. We first arrived and were directed to the cat enclosures to spend some time freely while we waited for the tour (free) to begin. After taking a tour of the facilities with Ian, who was both knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and given instructions by him during it, we were left to enter sections clearly marked as accessible and enjoy time with the many dogs who were only to happy for some company. Though the puppies are cute, and the young dogs entertaining, it was the older dogs I liked best. Some were missing their lower jaw (from attacks or fighting prior to life at the foundation), other were completely blind, with both eyes missing, but nonetheless were happy and affectionate. Obviously they receive both love and care here. At the end of our tour, donations for the foundation were requested, but it never felt like an obligation, and there was never any pressure. Obviously we donated anyway, as rarely have I seen an organisation that spends it so wisely and generously.
My husband and I went to Soi Dog. There was a tour and one of the members took us around. Later on, we were asked to explore the place on our own. We were given specific instructions on where to go and what to do. So my husband and I decided to spend some time with the Soi Cats because we love cats. I have never been to a room full of cats and at Soi Dog, I had an opportunity to do so. We were inside the room full of cats, sat there with them. We had a great time and returned to our home feeling good.
Fantastic place with fantastic people helping fantastic dogs and cats. Everyone here is very friendly and welcoming, any needed information just ask to a crew member. What an amazing job they do any help they can get is very much appreciate and needed
Just wanted to let anyone that loves animals and is in the Mai Khao area of Phuket to check this place out. The love for these animals that the staff and volunteers show is beyond amazing. I was there around noon when the local temple had its call to prayer, and was treated to a dog choir, the facility has everything to help the animals recouperate, alth8ough i missed the times when i could have interacted with the dogs, i did get to spend some time in the cat room, loving on as many as possible before being fetched by Rachel, for a private tour of the grounds and a history of the foundation, and their ongoing mission . thank you for your time Rachel, and thank you to the foundation for all you do, on behalf of the animals.
I wish more people knew what a great thing these people are doing!! If you go to Phuket, duck in to have a look and support them
