A pit barbeque is a method and constructed item for barbeque cooking meat and root vegetables buries below the surface of the earth. This method is still used in some places around the world but the Bennett's Bar-B-Que has enormous smokers outside the restaurant. The pork ribs, chicken, chopped pork and beef briskets are basted in their special sauce and then set over blazing hickory wood and smoked for 14 hours. The heat helps the sauce penetrate deep into the meat, turning it into a perfect shade of pink. Because of the slow cooking, the meals are moist, tender and full of flavour. They serve different sauces on the side ranging from mild to hot and some meals are served with mustard sauce as well. The decision of how much sauce you want is left to you. Everything is prepared fresh and in house, from their meats, to their side dishes and their 40 item salad bar.

On their menu find the delightfully cooked baby back ribs, which is meatier and more luscious. Wash this down with some coffee or a beverage which is served in a quart size mason jar. During Thanksgiving they serve the traditional turkey, potatoes and stuffing.  Pumpkin pie, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes and homemade rolls are also offered with perfection.
