J.T Hannah was an affluent business man in the Great Smoky Mountains. He operated the biggest freight Ware House and Stockyards in East Tennessee. On a daily basis, the finest local beers and whiskey were delivered to his warehouse. Adding to this, he also procured a wide variety of farm produce and the best livestock, cattle, hogs, and chickens. Moreover he had the exclusive contract to distribute seafood and the finest Atlantic salmon. J.T put up bunkhouses to house workers who came from far. And very soon he added a lunchroom, hired the best cooks and served delicious hot meals to these workers. Today everybody is welcome to join in the tradition and taste the wonderful food cooked at J.T Hannah’s Kitchen.

His sincere price and a bounty of beverages soon became common knowledge and as his demand grew strong, he decided to close the warehouse and storerooms and open his door full time to the public around 1930. The J.T. Hannah’s Kitchen recognised today is built from rich customs of the past. Each food item they serve, the hospitality shown to guests, and the operation of business, is stimulated by the man who did it best – J.T. Today they have the highest quality meats, pasta and seafood served with the freshest vegetables to make every meal memorable.

Walk through the door and let your eyes wander through the warehouse which is filled with rustic décor and relics reminiscent of the 1930s. The restaurant resembles a barn with dim lights and beverages are served in big mason jars. They have a bar where bartenders shake up a good cocktail to go with your food. So sit back, relax and be pampered with good food and drinks. Sizzle your senses with their signature steak and seafood or try J.T.
