The Pigeon Forge Mill, also known as the Old Mill, is a historic gristmill in the U.S. city of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The mill was initially used to grind grain, mainly corn, wheat, and oat, for local farmers. During the U.S. Civil War (1861–1865), the mill powered several looms which produced cloth for the military. In the early 1900s, a generator was installed at the mill which provided electricity to the area until 1930. Now a souvenir shop and restaurant, the mill has become a popular stop for passing tourists. Sit at tables at the Old Mill Restaurant overlooking the river that flows to the waterwheel, powering the gigantic stones that have ground the restaurants cornmeal and grits since 1830.
Here your taste buds are taken to a new height with their dinner specialties. They are served in lavish portions along with their signature corn chowder, salad, fresh vegetables and dessert. Their famous pecan pies are made from scratch. The whole grains are stone grinded and used for breads, grits, hush puppies, muffins and pancakes. Even the bread crumbs required for fried chicken, cat fish and pork chops are made here. The experience of having a meal at the Old Mill Restaurant is unique and the hospitality of the staff ensures you come back for more.
Ingredients are available on purchase in their general store. From bags of stone ground meal and custom soup mixes to fully prepared jams, jellies, dressing and sauces.

We went for Lunch at 1:15 pm. We had 5 people in our party after putting our name down we waited all of 10 minutes till we were seated. Our waitress was very kind and fast. After we placed our orders less than a minute later we were served soup and corn fritters with maple butter. After we had all finished our soups we only had to wait another 10 minutes till they brought out our main courses. Delicious food and large servings. Would certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good service and good food. Plus reasonable prices.
Catfish and fried chicken were very good while the pecan pie was excellent. Huge restaurant set in an old mill on the river. Although there is also a huge volume of customers, the staff is very proficient and friendly and moves people though fairly quickly. We were told the wait would be 20 minutes but it turned out to be about 10 minutes. Very good value too.
Good food, great service and beautiful setting. 5 stars if the kids meals had better prices (I can only speak for breakfast never been here for dinner). It's definitely not the cheapest place to eat with kids though for breakfast, only a dollar cheaper than adults meal but the portion was definitely a small kids size. (Example 6.99 for 4 thin silver dollar pancakes and a sausage, while adult meal came with 3 big thick pancakes) If trying to save money it's better to order an adult meal and split between two kids. Especially for older ones because splitting kids meals would leave them hungry. Otherwise get a meal for everyone and expect a pricey bill.
We arrived late in evening to eat and was greeted with open arms...we had the chicken and dumplings with green beans and mashed potatoes. The me also came with corn chowder and corn fritters. The food was all delicious and well prepared. We also had dessert included of chocolate cake and pecan pie. They were very good too! This is a must eat place if your looking for southern comfort food in Pigeon Forge!!
Main course was excellent. Green beans are too seasoned and fries were nothing to write home about. Hush puppies were great. The dinner rolls were a joke. Surprised that this place gets such a high rating. Maybe the atmosphere, which is very nice.
