The Pigeon Forge Mill, also known as the Old Mill, is a historic gristmill in the U.S. city of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The mill was initially used to grind grain, mainly corn, wheat, and oat, for local farmers. During the U.S. Civil War (1861–1865), the mill powered several looms which produced cloth for the military. In the early 1900s, a generator was installed at the mill which provided electricity to the area until 1930. Now a souvenir shop and restaurant, the mill has become a popular stop for passing tourists. Sit at tables at the Old Mill Restaurant overlooking the river that flows to the waterwheel, powering the gigantic stones that have ground the restaurants cornmeal and grits since 1830.
Here your taste buds are taken to a new height with their dinner specialties. They are served in lavish portions along with their signature corn chowder, salad, fresh vegetables and dessert. Their famous pecan pies are made from scratch. The whole grains are stone grinded and used for breads, grits, hush puppies, muffins and pancakes. Even the bread crumbs required for fried chicken, cat fish and pork chops are made here. The experience of having a meal at the Old Mill Restaurant is unique and the hospitality of the staff ensures you come back for more.
Ingredients are available on purchase in their general store. From bags of stone ground meal and custom soup mixes to fully prepared jams, jellies, dressing and sauces.

The Old Mill Restaurant Reviews & Ratings
My mother & I went for dinner yesterday evening. We we're seated immediately upstairs & had Jennifer as our waitress. This girl had a lot to do and was on her game. All the meals here are $20.00 but you get corn chowder, salad, corn fritters with heavenly honey butter, and a pick of several desserts. It's a damn good deal with massive portions. We had Turkey with dressing that was fantastic. The best Turkey I've ever had other than my mother's at Thanksgiving. The meal came with mashed potatoes and gravy and southern green beans. Both were top notch sides. We washed all this down with a big glass of sweet tea that Jennifer never let go empty. We ended the meal with the best banana pudding I ever ate. What a great meal! The atmosphere in the historic building is really cool. I love the Tiffany light fixtures & the painting of The Old Mill. Got some stone ground corn meal from the gift shop to fry my okra from my garden in, its awesome. Finished the evening by hand feeding ducks & geese with a bag of corn from the gift shop. Great food & a great time!
Great interior with wood everywhere. Lots of workers, a very well run restaurant. Our waitress Emili was fantastic, and I hope she sees this review. She didn't think I would finish my pork chops, but I did. This review is 5 stars because of Emili. Pot roast was fantastic! The corn chowder and fritters we're really tasty! Ask for a table overlooking the river. We must have hit it at the right time because we walked right in. The front of the restaurant is setup with a huge ramp and overhead heaters, so I'm guessing at the holidays this place gets very busy!
We waited a little over an hour for a table for two and it was well worth it. The food was delicious and there was so much of it! Meals are very well priced and they come with a salad, the meal, three sides, and a dessert. We took the desserts home and had enough leftover for two meals. The chicken and dumplings were refillable and amazing. They were a little heavy handed on the pepper but my husband and I also don't ever use pepper. The building was really cool and fun to look around. The store attached was also cool to see.
This restaurant was quite great. My husband got the breaded fried pork, I had the fried catfish, and the kids had the fried chicken. I have to say it was all good but the fried chicken was exceptional. When I ate some of the kid’s chicken I felt I had made a mistake ordering the catfish. We had family style Mac n cheese and the mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were fine, but the Mac n cheese was better. For dessert I had the chocolate cake, it was divine!! Their sweet tea was phenomenal. I would come back here in a heartbeat. Our dinners came with dessert included in the price which was a lovely surprise. The ambiance is so quaint, inside and out. I highly recommend eating here!!!
We went there this morning before heading home and oh my goodness. DELICIOUS!! The best biscuits and gravy I have had in years. The little fried potatoes were also so yummy. And the service was amazing. We sat down, immediately greeted. Then ordered, food was out in 10 min and it was really busy. Also the complementary banana nut muffins and orange just were both delicious. We will most certainly be back!
