The Pigeon Forge Mill, also known as the Old Mill, is a historic gristmill in the U.S. city of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The mill was initially used to grind grain, mainly corn, wheat, and oat, for local farmers. During the U.S. Civil War (1861–1865), the mill powered several looms which produced cloth for the military. In the early 1900s, a generator was installed at the mill which provided electricity to the area until 1930. Now a souvenir shop and restaurant, the mill has become a popular stop for passing tourists. Sit at tables at the Old Mill Restaurant overlooking the river that flows to the waterwheel, powering the gigantic stones that have ground the restaurants cornmeal and grits since 1830.

Here your taste buds are taken to a new height with their dinner specialties. They are served in lavish portions along with their signature corn chowder, salad, fresh vegetables and dessert. Their famous pecan pies are made from scratch. The whole grains are stone grinded and used for breads, grits, hush puppies, muffins and pancakes. Even the bread crumbs required for fried chicken, cat fish and pork chops are made here. The experience of having a meal at the Old Mill Restaurant is unique and the hospitality of the staff ensures you come back for more.

Ingredients are available on purchase in their general store. From bags of stone ground meal and custom soup mixes to fully prepared jams, jellies, dressing and sauces.

  • Worth the wait! Apparently October is the busiest time of year here. When we checked in for a table the wait wasn't given in minutes or hours, but we were told "sometime tonight". The men walked across the parking lot for some moonshine tasting while the ladies waited patiently for a table. Food was absolutely amazing - from the soup to dessert! We had fried chicken that was incredibly fresh and delicious. All the potatoes & green beans you want, and don't forget the corn fritters!! We left stuffed but smiling!

  • One word Delicious!!!!. I had the fried chicken beast. You got 3 big chicken breast. They offer corn chowder mashed potatoes and green beans. You can substitute a side though. Mashed potatoes and green beans are served family style and they are all you can eat. Corn fritters very good also. It also comes with dessert. I had the pecan pie, yummy. Service was good there was 15 of us so she had her hands full

  • You may have a wait but there is not one thing I've ever had that I did not like. Alvina is the best waitress I've ever had very patient, very kind. I have enjoyed everything on the menu but I especially like the grilled pork chops (instead of fried, I get grilled), mashed potatoes and green beans and a cup of corn chowder. You can't go wrong here but there will be a wait but there's a store next door that will make your wait worth it. In addition, MANY photo ops available. :)

  • Good southern food, great prices! This place knows how to feed a fella. Started off our day with a tasty country breakfast. Everything was delicious and our server, Steve, was absolutely fantastic. Ended our day with a delicious fried chicken (me) and fried pork chop (my wife) dinner...with all the fixings. Great little shops surround the restaurant too.

  • Great area! Food was good. Homemade flavors. Corn fritters were different from what I expected, but good. Generous but not cartoonishly large sized portions. Reasonably priced. The crowning moment for which I will return there is the blackberry cobbler. It nearly brought tears to my eyes as it reminded me of the fresh blackberry cobblers made by my grandma. Tons of memories came flooding in as my wife and I shared the dessert. My family will definitely visit again anytime we are near Pigeon Forge.
