The Pinole Shores Park sprawling over 2315 acres by the San Pablo Bay is blessed with breezy meadows, nature trails, seasonal wildflowers, scenic bluffs, soft sandy beaches and aromatic Eucalyptus groves. You can go for sailing or boating at the San Pablo Bay and marvel at the mesmerizing vistas of Mt Tamalpais on one side and marine shoreline on the other. The Dotson Family Marsh with thriving avian fauna and the 1.5 mile Atlas Road Bridge connecting the Bay Trail are the highlights of the Pinole Shores Park. Along the bridge extension, you can find picnic sites with access to the restrooms. The Eucalyptus grove is home to Whitetail Deer, Owls, Eagles, Hawks, Song Sparrows and the famous Monarch Butterflies.

Pinole Shores Park Reviews & Ratings

  • A cozy parking lot ensures things won't get too busy at this part of the Bay Trail access. A nicely paved trail, with spots to sit and enjoy San Pablo Bay, make for a good place to get in some fitness, or a brief taste of the outdoors. The only drawback is there's no legal access to the water due to the train tracks running between that and the trail, so you might get a little noise from that.

  • It's such a peaceful place to just listen to the sound of the water. Especially in the morning or at night when it's quiet.

  • Well kept by Parks & Recreation, slopes and slight hills to get your heart pumpin. Fun, but hot.

  • Such a serene part of the bay...contemplation complete~

  • Nice view! It was beautiful
