Monarch Butterfly Grove Reviews & Ratings

  • Probably a magical place in-season (late October-Febuary). We went in September and it's just a simple eucalyptus tree grove. Reading all the Monarch plaques was a fun knowledge download even without getting to see their namesake butterflies. (We did not walk down to the beach, as it seemed far away considering we had stopped at a beach that day and would again later.)

  • I visited a tad too early for their migration season, but saw a few monarchs nonetheless. The grove is beautiful either way and the eucalyptus trees smell amazing. The main trail leads various trails to the beach which is a really neat area too!

  • Visited early in the season, but saw several Monarchs. Quiet, attractive park though obviously not ready for the masses since tables not assembled. Took a stroll throughout and it lasted maybe 15 - 20 minutes. Wish some of the flora had been identified.

  • Beautiful and peaceful place to walk and soak up nature. Access to the beach. So nice to see the beautiful butterflies sunning themselves. Definitely worth visiting!

  • Monarch butterfly season is from October to March. Nice easy walk to the beach and boardwalk. Just finished a hiking tour from 9:30 to 11:30am. Learning about birds, plants and wildlife.
