Margarethen Kirche is a gothic church which is one of the oldest buildings in the city of Gotha. The church has pointed windows and choir ornamented with tracery. One can still see the Gothic jewelry in the sacristy. One of the main attractions of the church is the tomb of Duke Ernst, The pious and Duchess Elisabeth Sophia which lies within the church premises. The exterior of Margarethen Kirche has a sublime setting with lush green trees in the background and open spaces in front of its façade.
