  • Beautiful resort, but brown beach water! The resort is really beautiful: premises are well kept, rooms are clean and spacious, staff is friendly, food was fantastic and service was great. The only reason I would not recommend this hotel is because of the beach water. The water along the beachfront of the resort is this ugly brown color and when taking walks on the beach one would occasionally smell this sewer whiff, which leaves you wondering what that brown water really is. The whole purpose of going to the Caribbean is to enjoy its turquoise waters and not to swim in muddy murky waters. Unfortunately, my wife got very sick when we returned from vacation (bacterial infection), and while it could be a coincidence, I cannot help but wonder where she got this from. Bottom line, the resort is very nice, but if you go for the beach, looks elsewhere.i

  • It's a beautiful resort. The food is good. The drinks and bar staff are great. The ocean access is great. The biggest problem we had was the check-in process. Nothing was ready and the front desk was very understaffed. It took an hour and a half to check-in and get a room. The group that we came with also had the same experience. In some of their cases, their rooms were cancelled without notice.

  • Well maintained. Excellent food. Happy hard working staff. People that complain about this place boggle my mind. For the price you pay you get your money worth and then some. The place is huge! I would def do this place again.

  • We vacationed in riviera maya 3 times in the past 3 years, and this resort feels far below average. Like some of the other reviews mentioned, the room/amenity feel old and outdated. The food in the buffet doesn't change much (breakfast is the exact same every day), the other restaurants have average food, need reservation (and can only reserve up to 3 days in advance) and often don't fill up. There is a bit distance from room to pool/beach or restaurants. The pools have no play structures for kids, unless you're a family club member, and live in the separate section of the resort. The beach is crowded, rocky and dirty, with no bathroom. Service is lacking too, with a lot of staff speaking very little English, or familiar with the resort enough to be helpful (not knowing directions, room type/upgrade availability). The daily shows are amateurish. The resort is not smoking free, even for the family side of it. We don't recommend this resort, especially not to family with children.

  • Handicapped Rooms are not adequate. Rooms will only have the toilet door removed. Toilet is very low in height, arm bar is too high, no space for handicapped person to bring their wheelchair into these areas. Hotel management could not do anything. A week reservation resulted in only 2 nights stay and check out with no reimbursement. Check in process to slow, and although aware of handicapped need, the first night no room was available. Food is good. Beach has an area of rocks. I found staff in the lobby where not as friendly.
