The Planetario de Playa del Carmen is the first National Observatory for Astronomy in the entire Yucatan Peninsula. Currently the planetarium has a digital projection room with accurate data developed by NASA, an observation deck with two telescopes, a water museum and two didactic rooms. The place hosts regular classes, lectures, workshops and activities that go hand-in-hand with topics of sustainability and the smart use of resources. The best part is you see just how common the world problems are and learn about different cultures, environments and our planet as a whole.
The show called “Circus of Physics” arranged by José Vicente Hernández is one of the highlights of the planetarium and if you love physics, science or simply are a curious soul, make sure you see the trending exhibits at the planetarium when you visit Playa del Carmen.

Planetario De Playa Del Carmen Sayab Reviews & Ratings
Always a pleasure to stay at Sayab. I'm bias as I'm a repeat customer. + Great location. + Great and unique pool experience. + Friendly staff. - Rooms do not offer full size lockers.
We loved the explanation from the astronomer for the viewing of the sun. They only let us see a tiny part of the sun with a telescope though, perhaps there are limitations we do not know about. Dome video was seriously outdated (2003) and had some pretty tacky music. We think overall it’s a noble place and something people should take advantage of. Excellent staff.
Place to go when here. Definitely worth it.
it seems that the place has been neglected, but despite that is a good place to watch videos of stars
Worth a visit with the little ones
