  • Friendly staff and beautiful resort. Beach and pool are well maintained. Multiple restaurant options, including buffets and sit-downs. Rooms are simple, but nice. They each have a private little deck that looks off into a forested area. Very nice resort.

  • Great vacation spot and would definitely stay here again! The beach was perfect, XX was the beer on tap, and they had all types of name brand liquors for mixed drinks. The bad: pools not heated so we just jumped in the ocean which was nice, hotel room wasn't great but was fine to just sleep in, liquor cabinet in room was low grade but still did the trick. The only Mexican restaurant you had to make reservations at front desk at a certain time so we never made it, other restaurants were walk ups and good. Breakfast and Lunch buffets were okay. We called the front desk to refill beer and water and they were on the ball. Bartenders were nice and we tipped them $1 USD every time and they were top notch to us then, even though tipping isn't required and not done by most. Mixed drinks were good and if you drink coffee definitely get it at the bar as its way better. There are a lot of Europeans that stay here, we only met 2 other Americans but that's not a big deal. Sand volleyball and ping pong tables were fun. We didn't get to see much entertainment although apparently there were nightly shows. While my review says a lot of stuff was okay, that is what we expected. For the price we wanted an all inclusive resort with a nice beach and that is what we got. Would highly recommend it if that is what you are looking for.

  • Just sitting in the lobby waiting to head out to the airport after spending a week here. Open air lobby and reception is very welcoming and check-in took us two minutes when we arrived at approx. 4:30pm. Food was very good, drinks were plentiful and well made. Beach was spectacular. Staff is super friendly and hard working. We will be back next year to stay longer and will be bringing friends and family.

  • The Riu Yucatan has been a spectacular destination trip. The resort has two wonderful pools, as well as a prime location on a soft sandy beach without a large drop. There are many food options, all with buffet and at all times there is something available. Everywhere you look you can see a bar, fully stocked with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, with incredibly friendly and fast staff serving you. All of the personnel are exceptionally friendly, and there is a special group of extra outgoing staff members starting activities and making sure you have a good time. The rooms are everything you need, the room I am in has a king size bed, a shower, a small deck which I can view the jungle area from, and a nicely stocked mini bar. The specific room I am in connects to the room adjacent which works well as I am here with family. Activities and beach equipment like snorkeling gear are also available and easy to get at the building on the beach.

  • The rooms are clean, the food is great! We didn't have time to try the Mexican restaurant but the buffet is more than enough. The WiFi wasn't so great in common areas but was fine in the room. You have access to 2 other resorts but I didn't get to explore them. The staff is friendly. I had to ask for double shots in all my drinks and even then I didn't really taste any alcohol in most of my drinks. If you don't feel like going out of the resorts there à little shopping center watch out the merchants will try to sell you stuff for 3x their worth but there is a convenience store that has almost everything you're looking for and much cheaper. The night shows could be a lot better. Despite a few negative points I would definitely come back. I went there October 22 to October 27 2017.
